![]() ESA International, founded 1929 as Epsilon Sigma Alpha, is a leadership service organization with approximately 10,000 members and 1,200 chapters in the U.S. and abroad. ESA offers its members leadership training, education and fellowship to assist and enhance their local and national philanthropic work. By challenging members to explore and develop their abilities, ESA International promotes confidence and competence and opens the door to greater career opportunity. Dear ESA sisters and visitors to our Arkansas ESA Web page: It is an honor to serve as your 2008-2009 Arkansas State Council President. My theme is “Bloom Where You Are Planted.” I wish I could thank Adelia Prichard, who in 1929 had a vision and formed Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She planted a seed of extraordinary beauty and inspiration. Through her vision and ESA we have learned to set our goals high and to love doing for others. Let’s continue the legacy of Adelia and keep planting those seeds in our chapters. Once those seeds are planted, nurture them so that they may bloom into ESA’s beautiful garden. Can you imaging where you would be if you had not been planted into ESA? Think of all the wonderful friendships you have made just by being asked to come to a meeting. Let’s share this awesome experience with everyone we know. I know our garden will grow because you are all the most amazing women I have ever known. I am also asking that each chapter plant money raising events for the precious children at St. Jude and Easter Seals. Keep up the good work. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Drop me a note and let me know what you want to see at your state council meetings . Christie Williams Arkansas State President 2008-2009
